The Loyola Ramblers compete in the NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference. For graduate students, Loyola Chicago has a business school, a law school – particularly well known for health care law – and a medical school.

This school is shockingly expensive, but that's because it's a private school and Loyola has to pay for many things including maintenance, professors and other expenses. However, Loyola does give a lot back to the community and provide quite a lot of financial aid to students to make it more affordable.

The Residency Requirement

All full-time first-year and second-year students are required to live in Loyola University Chicago Residence Life housing and have an all-access meal plan. Typically, this requirement requires four semesters of residency in Loyola's residence halls (not including summer terms).

If you've been admitted to Loyola, then you're already being considered for merit-based financial aid. If you're interested in grants, federal need-based loans, or a blend of all available types of aid, the only way to find out what your family qualifies for is to complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).

Loyola University Chicago offers many financial aid options including scholarships, need-based grants, work-study, loans based on a family's ability to pay, payment plans, and other financing programs.

Merit scholarships are restricted to tuition only. Awarded to students with PTK membership and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Awarded to students enrolled at the City Colleges of Chicago who are Star Scholars and complete their AA or AS with a 3.0 GPA or higher prior to enrolling at Loyola.

We think it is important to be able to include the TOPS award in your Financial Aid Award, but cannot do so without the submission of test scores. Upon completion of your Loyola Application, you will see a place to upload a copy of your test scores in your Loyola portal.

Application review begins in December, and we start to send admission decisions in late January. Decisions are released on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle.
